I completely understand how some would be disappointed reading this story because it's so unlike any book she's ever written but I fell in love with this story!!! So much that I've had it a little over a month & I've read it 4 times already. Jake and Loreli's story was so sweet & simply breathtaking. To have someone like Jake who's so sexy yet clueless when it comes to a woman's body was adorable & he couldn't have had a better teacher than Loreli' gorgeous self to teach him. They both had thier own issues which is resolved over time and they realize just having a family means. Bebe & Dede had me shedding tears constantly whether in laughter or saddess due to their moms death & wanting another mother. I highly recommend this book.

Ms. Beverly Jenkins is expert in writing characters one can love and read about over and over. Loreli, Jake, and the girls are amazing.
Good read. My first by the author and did really enjoy it I was in love with the main leading lady and loved her persona. The book really gave her a voice not a many got at the time. And the twins where just too cute
I would recommend this book to fans of Beverly Jenkins and to those who enjoy reading historical romances because Lorelei was a great heroine and pretty unconventional for her time. She was a professional gambler, wealthy, and could handle a gun, but didn't know how to cook. She was considered somewhat of an outcast but gave the twins Bebe and Dede just what they needed. Excellent read especially the scenes where she teaches Jake a thing or two about fulfilling needs.
I like nothing better than to read a story about a strong, independent black woman but add in an equally strong minded black man and it's pure gold! Jake and Lorelei butt heads from the very beginning but you know there is something else simmering right under the surface. This was an engagingly lovely story with enough twists and turns to keep you interested all the way to the very end!
It was interesting to me from the beginning to the end. Loved Jake and Lorili and the twins.Iam glad they got to be a real Family after all they went through to get to know each other. They seemed to be the kind of characters that were easy to love.
This is one of Mrs. Jenkins more unique stories. The romance has a different twist. ??? It is a very beautiful story. If you've read about Lorlei in Always and Forever, you know her story is going to be good. I have been satisfied with the ending of all of the books I've read by this author. She has ended them perfectly. This is one that you want to continue. Don't get me wrong it does not take away from the story by no means. I just found myself wanting more with this one. A must READ.
